Developed, engineered, and assembled in the USA, the Gemprint Pro is an identification system for diamonds that records the unique and subtle distinctions in the stones. Completely noninvasive, the device works by shining a high-powered laser light at a diamond, which is refracted within the stone and reflected back from every facet and internal characteristic. The light coming back from the stone is its distinct optical fingerprint, which can be saved in a database shared with jewelers, law enforcement, and government officials. The Pro model has been redesigned to be more robust, precise, and faster than the previous edition. Featuring a unique centering device that removes the guesswork during stone alignment, the unit can be used on both loose and mounted stones.
