Overcoming the challenges of platinum-cobalt

All jewelers have their favorite alloy—the one they love to work in, that responds to their tools as if it were made just for them. All jewelers also have an alloy (or maybe two) that they detest—that doesn’t respond well or creates more work. So they make a point of avoiding it, even if some of the issues they have with the alloy could be easily overcome.
