Bead Weavers: Beth Farber

For New York–based artist Beth Farber, beading is a second career. During a work hiatus after she’d left the corporate world in the early 2000s, Farber took a beading class and immediately fell in love with the meditative quality of the work.

It was a golden age for beaders, she remembers, with “many really fine beadwork stores where they had classes and would bring in the finest teachers. The staff was extraordinarily talented and experienced. It was a pleasure to go into them.”
