A Little Place for Your Stuff
Jewelers share their favorite organizational aids
By Shawna Kulpa
To quote the late comedian George Carlin, “All you need in life is a little place for your stuff.” Of course, he used that line to kick off a five-minute routine about how people have too much stuff, but he wasn’t wrong, especially when it comes to life in a jeweler’s workshop. Anyone who’s been making jewelry for a while likely has drawers and shelves (and probably some boxes, too) filled with tools and supplies. It’s easy enough to pack away something used only once in a blue moon, but what about all of the stuff that’s used regularly? Jewelers’ benches have only so much available real estate, and jewelers quickly learn how important it is to make the best use of it.
