Protect Your Investment
Extending the lives of your tools and equipment
By Sharon Elaine Thompson
Maintaining jewelry manufacturing equipment was a lot simpler in the days when wax carvers, torches, and hand tools were the industry standard. For much of the industry today, however, casting machines, kilns, vacuum machines, 3-D printers, laser welders, and engravers have become much more common, much more complex, and much more important to maintain. There are flash lamps, sensors, filters, thermocouples, seals, lubricants, and cooling systems to keep an eye on, all of which follow different maintenance schedules: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or even every several years.
